An introduction to basic statistical methodology and its applications to business decision making. Main topics include probabilities, discrete and continuous probability distributions, probability sampling techniques, sampling distributions, interval estimation and hypothesis testing. Students are encouraged to use software packages to perform statistical analysis.

This course is intended to provide a practical and theoretical market valuation-oriented framework for analyzing financial decision problems faced by investors to the Markowitz diversification concept, Portfolio Analysis, Captial Asset Princing Model(CAPM), Arbitrage Pricing Theory(APT), project evaluation, mortgage problems and derivative securities like Interest Rate Swaps, Options and Futures, and also related issues.

This course introduces students to the legal system and the law regulating business activities. Particular focus is given to the law of contract. The course also covers laws relating to particular types of business contracts such as sale of goods, insurance contracts, and consumer credit. Aspects of property law and negligence are also covered.
